Blue Smokey Eye Tutorial ♡

Hello beauties! When it comes to makeup, blue is probably one of my favorite colors to use, so I decided to go for a blue smokey eye 😀 I hope you like it! ♡

As per usual, if you’d like to see how I achieved this look you can watch the YouTube video below or keep on reading this post for a step by step tutorial 🙂 xo

I have already done my foundation routine before getting started with this eye look :).

First thing I did was apply a white eyeliner all over my lid and then blend it out with my finger. Not only will this act as a base, but it will also make the eyeshadow appear brighter. Then I used a shimmery white eyeshadow in my inner corner as a highlight.

Next I used a cool-toned brown eyeshadow (taupe, you can say) and I blended that in my crease as a transition color, using a blending kabuki brush.

Now it’s time for one of my favorite eyeshadows… which I haven’t used in ages actually! This bright blue/turqoise eyeshadow from this Essence duo is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion, and with summer around the corner I think I am going to restart using it some more. Especially since blue makes my eyes pop, yay! Back on topic, I applied that on the outer 2/3s of my lid, trying not to touch the white eyeshadow that I had in my inner corner.

On the outer third I went in with a slightly darker blue (another eyeshadow that I really enjoy using actually) and I kind of blended the two eyeshadows together.

At  this point I went back to that kabuki brush that I used for the taupe eyeshadow in the beginning and I blended the blue into my crease. No additional product on the brush :p

Me and my love for dark and dramatic looks.. can’t help it! I took a shimmery black eyeshadow and popped that on the very outer area of my eye, slightly blending it into the blue.

Back to that taupe eyeshadow now! Take a little bit of it on your kabuki brush and make sure everything is nice and blended in your crease. You don’t want any harsh lines 😀

I reapplied some of that shimmery white eyeshadow in the inner corner and also on the browbone to make it stand out 😀 I feel like this pulls the look together quite nicely 🙂 But not done yet!

As always I applied a black eyeliner in the tight&waterline, then I lined my eyes and created a wing.

I removed the duct tape I had around my eye (to help me get a crisp line, and also make the liquid eyeliner application easier), fixed my concealer and now it’s time to do this bottom lash line… I took a pencil brush and applied that taupe eyeshadow all over my under eye area.

Then I took my black eyeliner and smudged it right into my lower lash line. To smudge that out, I took a small precise brush and that shimmery black eyeshadow that I had on my outer corner and ran that along the lash line, staying away from the inner corner as much as I could – I applied the lighter shade from my Essence duo in there :).

Lastly… apply loads of mascara! And false lashes if you want 🙂
To complete the look I applied a peachy nude lipstick on my lips and a similiar lip gloss on top. I feel like I’ve gone for this combo a few times before in my videos, but I really like it, especially for a more dramatic look like this one.

And that’s all dolls! Looking forwards to hearing your thoughts on this look. xoxo
