Christmas 2014 ♡ Sexy Smokey Eye tutorial ♡

Hi there 🙂 Today’s post is going to be about this sexy and wearable smokey eye that I think would be perfect for Christmas, or you know, around the holiday season 🙂 This is another collab with a YouTube friend of mine, Jennifer Chavez – she is such a beautiful and sweet and adorable girl, you totally won’t regret if you stop by her channel 🙂
But for now if you are interested in seeing how I got this makeup, then you can watch the YouTube video or keep reading this post for step-by-step details. Enjoy!

Okay since this was a collab I did my foundation routine on camera but I feeling way too sick to start writing about it now, so if you are interested in seeing what my foundation routine is then you can find a link at the bottom of this post 🙂 Jenny’s video will also be linked at the bottom! 🙂

I started by applying a tiny tiny dot of my Rimmel London Wake me Up concealer in 030 Classic Beige on my lid so that I would cancel any discoloration and also give the eyeshadows a nice base to stick to.

Then from my Physicians Formula Nude Eyes palette I applied a golden eyeshadow all over the lid and also towards the crease. Using a blending brush and the darkest brown eyeshadow of the palette I applied that all over the outter part of my eye and also a little bit in my crease – however I didn’t want the focus to be on the crease, just on the entire outter area.
Next I drew a messy linne on the outter half of my eye using a black liner and I smoked that out really well with a black eyeshadow and a pencil brush. After you do this, remember to go back to your blending brush to make sure that the brown & the black are nicely blended together.
I lined the inner two thirds of my lower lash line with a brown eyeliner and then I smudged that out using a slightly lighter brown eyeshadow from the palette. But since I prefer darker looks and stuff like that, I applied the darkest brown on top of it.
I believe that no Christmas inspired makeup is complete without a crap ton of gold and since the eyeshadow from my Physicians Formula wasn’t pigmented and gold enough for what I was going for, I just went ahead and applied a golden eyeshadow from my Covergirl 260 Coffee Shop quad on the inner half of the eye.
This is probably something I should have done in the first place but whatever – I mixed the gold eyeshadow and a silver one from the Nude Eyes palette and I applied that as a transition color. Again, go back to the blending brush that you first used to make sure that everything is nice, soft and smokey. And then just apply a white eyeshadow (or any other eyeshadow of your choice) on the brow bone as a highlight.

Next steps are pretty basic: I applied a black eyeliner in my tight&waterline. Black is just a personal preference, if you want to go for a white, brown, nude or any other eyeliner then go ahead. Then I applied two coats of mascara on the top lashes and one generous coat on the bottom. This is also optional, but I went ahead and applied some pair of natural looking false eyelashes that I cut in half to give me more of a cat eye and more sexyness.
I finished off the look by lining my lips and adding a red lipstick from Sunkissed cosmetics 🙂
And that’s it for my holiday look!
