Today I have a tutorial on this date night makeup. I wore this when I went out of Valentine’s Day plus several times this month… I guess it’s safe to say that this has been my favorite/go to look throughout February 🙂 I hope you like it just as much as I do! xo
Alright so I am going to quickly talk about each step I took, hopefully it makes sense! 🙂
Step 1: Flawless base: I decided to switch things up that particular day and I used my Rimmel Lasting Finish instead of my beloved L’oreal Infallible foundation. The results were just as good though!
Step 2: Conceal them dark circles… I have been obsessed with Primark’s/P.S. Love…’s under eye concealer ever since I first got my hands on it 🙂
Step 3: Bake (optionally) and set the rest of the face with powder. This prevents my skin from getting oily or the products going all crazy and all over the place during the day.
Step 4: I always fill in my eyebrows while the powder is baking under my eyes. That’s because my brows are pretty screwed up and take quite a bit of time to fix… so I’m basically getting two things done at the same time. Since my eyebrows require a few steps, I usually go in with a pencil, powder on top and lately I’ve been loving the L’oreal Brow Plumper… never thought that my brows can look (somewhat) voluminous again!
Step 5: Bronzing and contouring – love this step and I never skip it.
Step 6: Adding some color to the cheeks. Sometimes I just bronze all over instead of using a blush, but for this date night makeup I’ve really enjoyed a peachy color for my cheeks. I think it goes together really well.
Step 7: Highlighter! A couple months ago I picked up Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate… it’s such an intense and beautiful highlighter! I used it with a setting spray and damn, I was glowing! Cry with me though: it broke and shattered into 100 pieces when I was in holiday… thank you airlines for handling my luggage with such good care!
Step 8: After dusting off that powder from my under eye area using the anti-shine powder from my Makeup Revolution Protection palette, it’s finally time to move to my eye makeup 🙂
Step 9: I started by adding a warm brown, not dark but not too light either, as a transition color.
Step 10: Usually I would pair blue with cool tones, but for this date night makeup I actually went for other warmer shades: a peachy eyeshadow and then a pink on top of it. To add a really nice dimension to the eye, I used a darker warm brown in the outer corner area and blended it in with the rest of the eyeshadows..
Step 11: This deep, metallic blue eyeshadow from my Sleek Oh So Special palette is to die for! It looks stunning, both with my natural brown eyes or with my contact lenses. I never understood why people are afraid of blue eyeshadows, for me blue is really easy to pull off.
Step 12: Lower lash line: I mixed the peachy shade with the dark brown one to create a nice smokey effect. All of the eyeshadows I used for this date night makeup look are from the same Sleek palette mentioned above.
Step 13: Highlight the inner corner and brow bone. Sometimes I forget this step, and damn it makes such a big difference!
Step 14: Liner! As always, black winged line, black in my tight and water line. You can switch things up if you want, it’s all down to personal preference.
Step 15: Mascara and (optionally) falsies. I packed on a lot of Benefit’s Roller Lash to make sure that my natural lashes would blend in nicely with my Primark/P.S. Love… falsies.
Step 16: Last but not least, lips. Date night makeup or not, I want my overall makeup and my lip color to stay in place. Long wearing and transfer proof liquid lipsticks have been a must for me this past year, and the L’oreal Infallible Liquid Lipstick in Invincible Sable is one of my favorites.
And that’s all for my date night makeup look! As I said, I’ve worn this makeup quite a lot this month and I really love how it comes out. What’s your current beauty/makeup obsession? I’d love to know!
If you would like to see me to these steps on camera, I have a YouTube tutorial on this makeup look as well 🙂 Check it out!
