It’s that time of the year when I’m running out of products yet again. In today’s post, I have some empties and also one product that I am throwing away since it didn’t work out. To be completely honest with you, I have a love-hate relationship with my empties. It usually means that if it’s something I loved, then I am going to repurchase (RIP $$$). But at the same time, it’s refreshing to make space, maybe even for something new to try out! So without further ado, let’s see what I ran out of now…
#1 Maybelline Fit Me Powder – £5.99*
I did really enjoy this powder, and even though it’s not fully empty yet it’s going to the trash because it’s quite difficult to get anything on my brush/sponge. I had repurchased this powder in the past, but this time I decided to go back to the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Which is rather odd, because if I recall correctly I thought that Fit Me looks better and more natural on the face. But I guess I have to mix things up every now and then.
#2 (Ebay) Aritaum Full Cover Concealer
I bought this last year because I heard it was quite good. While it did indeed have full coverage, I didn’t use it too much. That is because if I blended it too much down my face (I usually apply my concealer in a big upside down triangle) then it made my pores stand out. Even with a pore filling primer. I wanted to give it another shot last month but it turned quite runny. I suppose it must be from the heat and from not being used in such a long time. I’m not going to take any risks with it and it’s just gonna go straight in the trash.
#3 Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Peel Off Face Mask – £2.99*
I bought this because I wanted a good peel off mask to remove any dead skin or dirt from my face. While this is quite soft and it doesn’t rip your skin apart when you peel it off, it did leave my skin feeling softer and cleaner. I already repurchased, but I think after this next tube I will probably try something else.
#4 Maybelline Instant Age-Rewind Concealer – £8.99*
Absolute holy grail! This beauty performs almost as good as my Tarte shape tape. And it’s also very affordable. I love it, and I did repurchase in the past. And I need to buy another one asap.
#5 Nip+Fab Hydrate Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum – £19.99*
I purchased this last autumn because my skin had some quite rough dry patches. It did a great job at hydrating, though I don’t think it really does plump. Also, I loved the scent… it smells like a man’s aftershave. It was so refreshing to put it on in the morning! I didn’t repurchase it yet, but I want to.
#6 L’oreal Infallible Fixing Mist – £8.99*
I talked about this quite a bit recently. First in my Top 10 under 10, then I also mentioned it in the What’s in my travel makeup bag post. I’m not going to go into much detail again, but I love it because it blends the powders into my skin really well and it also helps my makeup last longer. I have countless backups of it, and in fairness, I’m not even really keen on trying another setting spray for a while. Especially when it comes to the high-end ones… why would I waste my money?
# 7 Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum – £14.99*
I’m not exactly sure why I bought this one and no the Dragon’s Blood I talked about earlier. It was okay I guess but it didn’t wow me as much as the other one. If you’d have to choose between the two I’d say go with the hydrating and plumping serum, it’s a lot nicer.
#8 Nivea Sensitive Caring Micellar Water – £3.69*
First I got this as part of a Christmas gift set, then I repurchased it myself. I think it really helps take off my eye makeup, especially given that I apply many coats of mascara. However, I find that it doesn’t remove my face makeup very well. I usually have to go in with makeup removing wipe or some cleansing lotion afterward. It could be mainly because I wear a cake face most of the time, but I’d usually just stick to using this around my eyes. I didn’t repurchase another bottle as I want to try another micellar water next.
#9 Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel – £12.99*
I bought this face cream/gel quite randomly but I am so glad I did! It is very hydrating and it leaves my skin feeling great. Even my mom used it a couple times and said her skin felt silky smooth. Coming from someone who’s 46, that said a lot. I already repurchased and I love it.
#10 Olay Total Effects 7 in One Night Firming Moisturizer – £14.99*
I bought this around winter time because one of the claims was that it minimizes the look of pores. I was dealing with a pore problem at the time, as well as dehydrated skin, so I added it to my cart. This moisturizer feels very nice and rich on the skin, and I also woke up with nice skin in the morning. I might not have seen effects straight away, but now that I changed a few of my skin care products my pores look better and my skin is not so dry anymore. I didn’t repurchase it, but I would reconsider it.
And that was quite a bit of skin care! Usually, it’s mostly makeup that I finish up and talk about in my empties, but looks like these past few months I was more focused on my skin. Have you tried any of the products I talked about? What have you finished up lately and you’d recommend I check out? J
Until next time…
