Green Smokey Eye and Oversized Lips ♡

Hello beautiful, today I have a makeup tutorial on this green smokey eye and oversized lips, kind of inspired by Kylie Jenner’s lips/color. I think this look is really pretty especially for these of you who like to go for a rather bold makeup – I find that it looked absolutely lovely both with my blue contact lenses in as well as with my natural eye color (brown). Besides, with holiday season being right around the corner, maybe you can get some inspiration from this :).

As always, you can take a look at the YouTube video below if you’d like to find out how I achieved this look, or you can keep on reading this post for step by step details. Enjoy xoxo

As per usual, I will talk only about the eye makeup (and the lips), as my foundation routine is pretty much always the same… and very time consuming!
The first thing I did was apply an eyeshadow primer to make sure the colors will appear brighter and last longer throughout the day. After I blended the primer with my fingers, I applied a white eyeshadow all over the lid, again just to make sure that the colors I apply after will pop more.

And since I didn’t want to use brown, I used a very soft purple eyeshadow in my crease in order to make my eyes appear deeper/more dimensional. Some of you might think that purple and green don’t go well together, but I think if you use the right shades and blend really well it’s a stunning combo.

I used a setting spray to wet my brush in order to make the green more intense (applying shimmery shadows with a wet brush will give them a foiled sort of effect as well!) and applied that all over my lid.
Even though I wanted to stay away from the browns for this look, I used a very soft brown to help me blend the green into the crease colors – it’s not really showing, but the transition between colors looks really well.

green-smokey-oversized-lipsI wanted to go for something different in my waterline as well, so instead of my usual black eyeliner this time I applied a turquoise-green liner and also smudged it under my lower lashes a little bit. Then I took that dark green eyeshadow that I used on my lid and the same brush and I applied it across my lower lash line and I kept running the brush back and forth to make sure it looks well blended.
Then I went back to my lids and reapplied the green as it lost some of its intensity from all that blending I did earlier – but this time I didn’t have any extra product on my blending brush when I was trying to make sure that the transition looks neat and smooth.

Now it’s time to highlight the inner corner and brow bone – I feel like this makes such a big difference and pulls the entire look together. I used a matte white in my inner corner, as I didn’t want it to draw the attention from the green, and a shimmery white under the brows.

And of course I couldn’t forget about mascara! I applied loads of it, and decided to use a pair of false lashes as well – which of course if you don’t want to wear falsies, you don’t have to.

Time for lips now! I used a dark brown eyeliner to line my lips and overdraw them a little (I never use it on my eyes, so might as well find another purpose for it). Then I applied my Provocalips lipstick – I love this shade, it’s so flattering and I think it’s pretty similar to one of the colors Kylie Jenner often wears on her lips… which is why I love it even more 🙂

And that’s all for my green smokey eye and oversized lips tutorial. I hope you liked this makeup look as much as I did and maybe found some inspiration!
