If you’d like to see how I got this look then you can watch the YouTube video or keep reading this post for step-by-step details. Enjoy 🙂
Okay so first of all you will want to apply a primer (or a concealer) all over your lid so that the eyeshadows show brighter. This is optional of course, but I find that sometimes it makes a huge difference.
Then apply a dark green eyeshadow on the outter 2/3 of the lid. My brushes were somewhat wet when I created this look and I think that this made the eyeshadows even more pigmented.
Afterwards I applied a res eyeshadow in the crease and blended that towards the browbone.
Now of course red and green are two colors that don’t blend so easily together so I used a black eyeshadow in order to blend them together. I also like dark and bold looks, so the black really helped me achieve the dramatic look I wanted.
Then I took a lighter green eyeshadow and I applied that all over the lid. I also smudged whatever was left on the brush on my lower lashline.
I applied a yello eyeshadow in the inner corner of my eye and I also blended it with the green a little bit – just run the brush on top of the eyeshadows, nothing too crazy. Of course I didn’t want any harsh lines so I went back to the fluffy brush that I used to blend the black eyeshadow into the green&red and I blended some more. Also, I applied a white eyeshadow on my browbone as a highlighter.
I lined my eyes using the Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo in Timeless Black – which isn’t as black as I would have wanted it to be (see review here) …therefore I took a small angled brush and I applied some black eyeshadow on top of the winged line I just drew. You don’t have to wing your eyeliner out if you don’t want to, it’s just my personal preference.
Next I applied a white eyeliner in my water line and eventually mascara – apply as many or as few coats as you’d like, since I wanted to use false eyelashes I applied less mascara on the top and more on the bottom lashes. Again, falsies come down to personal preference – you don’t have to use any if you don’t own/want to or if it makes you feel uncomfortable. If you want to use some, then again keep in mind that mins are quite dramatic – you don’t have to use something similar… go as natural or as dramatic as you’d like! 🙂
And I think that sums it up for this makeup tutorial – I have a foundation routine video linked down below if you’d like to see what I do/use on my face. Also, I kept the lips nude, since there was a lot going on my eyes.
