Hello beautiful, today I have a Primark PS Love… haul! I love Primark for their really affordable and cute clothes and shoes, and I always end up getting something from their beauty range, P.S. Love…, when I shop there. Some of the Primark PS Love… products are a hit, some a miss, but for such low prices I am going to continue to try them out! I remember last spring I tried out their Volumising Mascara and I really liked it, and since then I keep experimenting with their makeup range.
Without further ado, I will jump straight into the haul and review each item I got, as well as show you some swatches where possible.
Primark PS Love… Concealer – Tan £1.50
I have bought this because I wanted to try it for cream contouring. The shade Tan is not too warm toned and much darker than my skin tone so I thought it would be nice to try out. And holy, this is nice! It is super pigmented, a little goes a very long way (the first time I didn’t expect it to be any good, so I applied too much.. imagine the mess I had to clean up after!) and the shade is perfect for getting them cheekbones stand out. It feels like it is more on the thick side, so I need to try this in a lighter shade as an under eye concealer… I think I may be impressed! Below you can see it swatched and somewhat blended in, next to the P.S. Love… Lip Liner. Click here to find out how this works as an undereye concealer!
Primark PS Love… Lip Liner – Brown
There’s your typical Kylie Jenner kind of color for only £1 right there! I got this so that I can line my lips when wearing 1995 by Gerard Cosmetics and I love the combo! I feel like it doesn’t glide on as smooth as my New Look/Pure Colour lip liner, but for one quid it’s still a steal. I forgot to take a picture of the actual liner, but there it is above swatched next to the concealer.
Primark PS Love… Loose Face Powder – Light
I have never used a loose face powder before, but I want to get into baking, so I figured I can’t go wrong with this £2 powder. And this is another hit in my opinion! It’s great for baking the under-eye area, it’s adds a tiny bit of coverage and lasts well mixed with the rest of the products that I apply on my face. I think this was definitely worth trying and I might repurchase it.
Primark PS Love… 2 Pack Eyeliner & Pencil Sharpener
I bought this 2 pack eyeliner in blue & turquoise last year and I really liked the colors. The sharpener is surprisingly good as well! So I decided to try this white and err… how do you even describe that colour? Champagne? Let’s go with white and champagne duo. I don’t know how the formula of these is different from my colorful ones which I love, but these are actually a bit of a miss. I can’t seem to get them to show on my waterline. And the main reason why I bought this duo is because I want to try to change up my looks a bit more and use some brightening pencils in my waterline, instead of always wearing a black liner. They swatched nicely on the hand though, so they might come in handy as a base before applying eyeshadow. But at the moment this is a miss.
Primark PS Love… Egg Makeup Sponge (a.k.a. Beauty Blender)
Can you believe I’ve never tried a beauty blender before this? I know right! When I saw this in the store I had to get it… one, because I wanted to see what the hype is all about. For £1.50 it’s probably not gonna be as amazing as the actual beauty blender (or the other drugstore alternatives on the market) but I still wanted to see why people like applying their foundation with a sponge. Secondly, as I mentioned I want to start baking my under eye area… and I figured that even if it would fail at applying foundation, it should be able to pack powder under my eyes.
It was… decent. The foundation applied so naturally, like I had nothing on my face – I don’t really care about looking all natural to be honest, but it was still an impressive result. However it took away so much of my L’oreal Infallible Matte foundation‘s coverage! Applying the foundation with a brush (or even with my fingers when I can’t be bothered in the morning) will get me at least a medium coverage – however with this egg makeup sponge I had to apply at least two layers to cover the redness on my cheeks.
It wasn’t that awesome for baking either… I felt like I ended up with more powder on my clothes than under my eyes… it kind of worked eventually, but I didn’t get as intense of a result as I’d hoped. I ended up throwing the Primark PS Love… sponge away after watching (I couldn’t watch that, I was more like listening to) a video of a girl claiming she found bugs in her beauty blender (the actual beauty blender she bought overseas). Ain’t nobody got time to care for and wash the damn sponge after each time I apply makeup, so the thing ended up in the bin.
And that’s all for my Primark PS Love… haul, review and swatches! I hope you guys found this helpful and I’d love to know if you tried out anything from the P.S. Love… beauty range! I wouldn’t mind a few product recommendations for my next shopping trip 🙂
And also I’d love to know if you would be interested in a review on all of the P.S. Love… false eyelashes! I’ve been thinking about doing that for a while now!
Thank you for stopping by!
