Prom 2015: Makeup For Black Dress ♡ Drugstore Full Face Tutorial

prom makeupHello beauties! Prom season is almost here so I thought I would come up with a gold & black smokey eye paired with coral-red lips that goes nice with a black dress (in my opinion, at least). Enjoy 🙂 xoxo
If you’d like to see how I got this look then please keep on reading or watch the YouTube video :D.

Okay so for this look I started with the eye makeup first. I used some duct tape in order to get my eye makeup seem sharper and also to get a nice cat eye, so there was no point in doing my foundation routine first since the tape would take away some of the coverage…

I applied a little bit of my Makeup Revolution concealer on the lid and blended that using my finger, as I wanted my eyeshadows something to stick to :). Then I took a brown/taupe eyeshadow from my Iconic 2 palette and I applied that in the crease – this will be my transition color and it’ll help me blend the eyeshadows later.
On to a angled flat brush I took a golden eyeshadow from the same palette and I packed that on my lid.
Then using a fluffy brush I applied some black eyeshadow on the outer area of my eye and blended towards the middle. Take your time when you are working with black eyeshadow – it’s easier to go little by little than applying a lot of product at once and then trying to blend it out :).
Next I applied a black liner on my tight and waterline and I also used a liquid eyeliner to create a wing – not too thin, not too thick either. Just rolled with it, haha.
I highlighted my brow bone and inner corner, then I removed the tape and did my foundation routine. I am not gonna do in many details about that… did my foundation, concealer, brightened up the high points of my face, set everything with powder, bronze, contour, blush, highlight and then brows. Eaaasy 🙂

Back to the eye makeup. I took some more of that black eyeshadow on the tip of a flat brush and I applied that on the outer 2/3s of my lower lash line, then I smudged it out using that taupe eyeshadow that I first used as a transition color. And on the inner third I just applied the golden eyeshadow.
I went back to my liquid eyeliner and I (re)applied that in the very inner corner of my eye and also a little bit on the inner part of my lower lash line for some extra sexyness and darkness :).
Time for lashes, finally! I used Maybelline’s Falsies mascara for the first time when I was filming this (quite impressive I’d say, still need to test it out some more though) and then I applied a pair of falsies that I got from Primark :).
For the lips I was going to go for a full on red lipstick, but then I chose a more sheer one, that’s a bit on the orangey/coral side. I think it looked pretty good with the makeup though! 🙂

And that’s all 🙂 I’m looking forwards to hearing your thoughts on this look!
Are you going to prom or have you already graduated? xoxo
