Summer Glam Makeup ft. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Do you know that feeling when you find a makeup look that suits you and then you do it over and over again? That’s what happened to me this summer. For the past few months I wasn’t able to put down my Too Faced Sweet Peach palette and I feel like I recreated this pink&purple eye makeup look more times than I can count.

You know what’s even funnier? When Too Faced launched the Sweet Peach palette I wasn’t even keen on getting it. I mean the palette seemed quite average in pictures. A nice pink and a good looking purple, that’s about it. In real life though, I think the shades are gorgeous!

So yeah I guess I am a little obsessed with this pink and purple makeup look. And I’ve also pretty much had the same routine for my skin too. I guess it’s safe to call it my go to look for the summer. Yeah, I hear you. “You’ve been wearing this all summer? Isn’t that makeup too heavy to be wearing it all the time during hot summer days?” Well, UK didn’t even have a proper summer this year. Also, I don’t coordinate my makeup with the weather outside. I mean, it doesn’t matter if I’m going to Lidl or to a party, I love a full face of makeup.

You know why I loved this makeup so much?
Well, I think that pinks and purples compliment my natural brown eyes really well.

And I also love how it looks when I wear my blue contact lenses.

So how do I achieve this look? Well, I’m going to go into details then!

Whenever I do this look I usually apply the NYX Pore Filler primer all over my face and then start with my eyes makeup. The Too Faced Sweet Peach palette has a bit of fall out. It’s nothing major, but it’s a lot easier to clean up when I don’t have to worry about destroying my foundation. To prep my eyes I usually apply concealer and then eye primer on my lids. You can use either one of these, it doesn’t have to be both. Then to set the concealer/primer I apply the shade ‘White Peach’ all over the lid.

Then I pretty much start building the pinks up. I go in with a little bit of shade ‘Georgia’ all over the crease and towards the browbone. Of course you can do this eye makeup look only with the Sweet Peach palette, but every now and then I’d reach for my original Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and apply a bit of ‘Chocolate Bon Bon’ on top of ‘Georgia’ to make it more pink and less peachy.

Next I apply the shade ‘Candied Peach’ in the crease, but as the shadows get darker and more vibrant I apply them lower. ‘Just Peachy’ is not exactly matte, so I only apply the tiniest amount. Okay, at this point my eyes would look quite pink but there would be no dimension. That’s why I like to apply ‘Sugar Yum’ right in the crease of my eyes and blend it into the other shades.

Nothing beats a good purple eyeshadow. If you have brown eyes, give purple shadows a try. You will not be disappointed. The shade ‘Delectable’ from my Sweet Peach palette compliments my skin tone really well so I like to apply it on the outer part of my eye to add more depth and dimension.

Once everything is blended together and I’m happy with the intensity of the eyeshadows, I go in with the star of the show: ‘Bellini’. OH.MY. GAWD! I love this shade. It’s a beautiful duo-chrome pink eyeshadow that transforms into a beautiful golden color when the light hits it. YASSS HONEY!

At this point I would usually apply my NYX Matte Liquid Eyeliner and then move on to my face makeup. My favorite foundation is still the Clinique Beyond Perfecting. I have it in a couple shades too, so that it matches me no matter how tanned I am. (Yeah, this summer I also got into fake tanning. weird, right?!)

Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer has been a favorite since last year, but lately my skin has been really dry and it looks a bit weird once I powder around my eyes. Has that happened to anyone else? Should I just throw it out and get a new tube? Well, I started trying out the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer and it looks quite good! It is not as full coverage, but I am pretty happy with it and it looks less cakey around the eye area.

Time for powders… right. I use the 2 middle shades from the NYX Contour & Highlight kit to set under my eyes. Then to set the rest of my face y’all already know that the Rimmel Match Perfection translucent loose powder is my drugstore holy grail. Another must haves from the drugstore are the Freedom Brow Pomade and the L’oreal Brow Artiste. My brows are screwed to the point where I feel there’s no hope for them, but those 2 products (and the Gerard Cosmetics Brow Bar) save me a little.

Awesome, 500 words later my face looks poreless, flawless, matte and more or less like a potato. Let me take a moment to thank whoever invented bronzing and contouring products. *THANK YOU!* Ok, back to bronzing and contouring. I stick to the NYX Contour & Highlight Kit because it has everything I need in it and the shades blend really well on my skin. And as of late I’ve been using the Rimmel Highlight and Contour stick before going in with powders too, it makes my cheeks look even more chiseled.

I have 4 of the Tarte Amazonian Clay mini blushes, and I either go in with ‘Pop’ alone or apply it on top of ‘Royal’. Now, highlighter is the tricky part. I love using the shade ‘Daydream’ from the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit. I feel like it compliments the shade ‘Bellini’ really well. But of course that palette was limited edition so it’s unlikely that you can still get it. However I recommend you try the Gerard Cosmetics Star Powders. I have the shade ‘Grace’ (lightest one, if I’m not mistaken) and it’s BLINDING!

Jeez, this post is getting long. Okay, let’s finish that eye makeup. I’m almost finished, I promise! Back to the Sweet Peach palette. For the bottom lash line I pretty much mimic what I have on my crease. So I would go in with the shades ‘Georgia’, ‘Candied Peach’, ‘Just Peachy’, ‘Sugar Yum’ and a tiny bit of ‘Delectable’. Then I use the eyeshadow ‘Nectar’ to highlight my inner corner and brow bone. Add eyeliner, mascara (and falsies) to your liking and then it’s just lips left!

See, I know some of you will say that pink and pink don’t go together. But I think the eye makeup is NOT thaaat intense, so I can get away with wearing a vibrant pink lip. If you remember a few months back I made a list of my top 5 liquid lipsticks for spring and summer. And that’s pretty much what I’ve been wearing all summer long. Especially my Rimmel Provocalips or H&M Velvet Lip Cream. I think it goes well with this look. Last but not least, setting spray. You already know, I never leave the house without my L’oreal Infallible Fixing Mist.

Wow, that were a lot of words. I guess I am a little excessive when it comes to makeup. I just can’t stop myself. Is that love or what?
Anyhow, if this post was too long for you to read, I also have a tutorial on this makeup look up on my YouTube channel. Yes, I’m finally trying to get back into filming YouTube videos. I am so excited! Check it out, if you’d like. 🙂
