Hello there beauties, today I have a Thanksgiving makeup idea for you :)! I don’t know much about this holiday as we don’t celebrate this holiday where I am from but I wanted to come up with an easy makeup idea: something simple, but soft glam at the same time. And the best part is that all the products are from the drugstore, so it’s really affordable look as well! Or if you are like me and don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, well who says you can’t get some inspiration for a normal night (or even day, if you really are like me) out? I hope you like it!
As always, if you’d like to see how I got this look you can either keep on reading this post for step by step details or watch the YouTube video below 🙂 Enjoy!
I started by applying a concealer around my eye area to begin hiding these dark circles. Besides, I wanted to start with the makeup so this was a good base for my eyeshadows. And I figured since I am going to do the eyes first, I could apply my face primer as well so that it would have enough time to set into my skin.
Next I applied a soft brown eyeshadow on my lids and mainly in my crease – this will help me blend some darker shades later on. When I thought about this Thanksgiving makeup idea, I wanted to go for something rather glam (even though I am not the type of person who needs a holiday to go all glam when it comes to makeup) so I applied this really sparkly champagne eyeshadow all over my lid. I went in with that soft brown shade again to make sure everything is nice and soft and then I applied a dark brown in the outer third of my eye, blending it out really well.
I decided the look is still not dark enough for my liking, so I added a tiny bit of black eyeshadow on the very outer corner and then went back to my blending brush and blended everything together once again.
Once I was happy with the darkness on the outer corner of the eye, I decided to go back to that champagne eyeshadow and reapply it in the inner corner (as it wasn’t showing up as intense from all that blending) and also used it to highlight my browbone.
I lined my eyes as usual and then I moved on to my complexion as I figured I’d better apply mascara once I am done with the lower lash line as well.
So I applied my foundation, concealer and powder as I normally would, used bronzer and blush to add some color back to my face and of course I could not forget about contouring my cheekbones and ,nose a step I never skip. Then I applied highlighter generously, and moved on to filling in my eyebrows (a very necessary for me).
Back to the eye makeup again. I wanted to change things up a little bit so I used a golden shadow on my lower lash line instead of just using the colors I have on my lid. It doesn’t show up that well on camera as it did in real life, but it looked really pretty and made my eyes (well, lenses) stand out even more.
Next I applied mascara, loads of it as I decided to skip the false lashes for this makeup look.
Last but not least, lips: I’ve gone through a red lip phase over the past two weeks so red lips it was. I used a lip liner first just to make sure I’m not going to mess up, then used my beloved red Provocalips liquid lipstick – if you’re going to be eating and drinking at the Thanksgiving dinner this will stay on your lips like a dream.
And that’s all 🙂 I hope you liked my Thanksgiving makeup idea and maybe found some inspiration!
