Warm Smokey Eye Makeup with a Pop of Blue ♡

Hey there beautiful,
I feel like lately I have been all about cool toned shadows, so I decided to go for a warm smokey eye for a change! I added a pop of blue on the lower lash line to really make my brown eyes stand out and make the look more fun 🙂 I hope you like it just as much as I do!

Okay so as per usual I am only going to talk about the eye makeup, as my face routine is usually the same – but I should do an updated post about that at some point!
For this look I forgot about the eye primer and jumped in straight into my eyeshadow palettes. I knew I wanted to go for a warm smokey eye, but at the same time I didn’t want to just add one warm-toned brown eyeshadow, blend it all over and be done with the look… so I used a couple transition colors and blended everything really well so that it wouldn’t be as obvious where one color ends and another one starts. Besides, I have won all of the Makeup Revolution Chocolate palettes in a giveaway and they recently turned up on my doorstep, so I was excited to use as many shadows as possible! 🙂
Step 1: I applied ‘Heavenly’ from the Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate Salted Caramel palette (that’s a mouth full!) as my first transition color, blending it from the crease towards the brow bone.
Step 2: I chose a sliiightly darker transition color, ‘Thank Friday’, from the original/first Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate palette and applied that on top of ‘Heavenly’, but not blending it as high towards my brows.
Step 3: I took the eyeshadow named ‘Sweet’ from the Salted Caramel palette and I applied that in the outer V area and in the crease. For a more precise application I used an old voucher card to get that nice sharp line. Of course you can use tape or a brush as a guide as well, or skip the step all together if you want to recreate the look.
Step 4: Time to add more warmth to my warm smokey eye! For that I used the ‘What a Way to Go’ from the Chocolate palette and the voucher card again to get my precise application.
Step 5: Lid color: I wanted something not too bronzy but not too golden either, so ‘Chocolate Love’ from the Chocolate palette came in really handy! Go back to the blending brush and make sure there is no harsh transition between the lid and the crease colors.
Step 6: I used the shadow named ‘You Need Love’ as a brow bone and inner corner highlight.
Step 7: Finally, the pop of blue! I really liked how the warm smokey eye came out, but as I said in the beginning I wanted the look to be fun. Besides, blue makes my brown eyes stand out, which is awesome. I used a blue eyeliner from Primark/P.S. Love… in the waterline and then I smudged ‘Crunch’ from the Salted Caramel palette all across the lower lash line.
Step 8: Liner: I always prefer to go for a winged eyeliner, and the sharp eyeshadow line I created earlier helped make the application so much easier. I also applied some of the gel liner that was left on my brush on the tightline.

Step 9:
Mascara, and optionally, falsies. I used the They’re Real by Benefit and I feel like it was the perfect choice… look at these bottom lashes! As far as my falsies go, this one of my favorite pairs from Primark/P.S. Love…, called ‘Sultry’.
Step 10: Finally, lips! I mixed my Milani Liquid Lipstick (not transfer proof) with my New Look/Pure Colour Matte Liquid Lipstick to get a lovely pink color and in hopes to make the Milani lipstick go matte and transfer proof…. got it to go matte, but it still transferred – such a shame!

And that’s all for my warm smokey eye with a pop of blue 🙂 What colors do you like to add to your makeup looks? Or do you prefer all neutrals? I’d love to know!
